Lessons from Joseph life in the Bible

1.His brothers sold him. Expect betrayal from people very close to you.

2. He was sold for 20 pieces of Silver. Expect to be sold cheap.

3. The root cause was envy, it still is.

4. In slavery, God was evidently with Joseph. God doesn’t have a preference for nice places; he’s with people he has purpose for. Even through the valley of the shadow of death.

5. Joseph rose to take total responsibility for Portiphar’s business. If you are an employee that God is with, your master will hand over himself to you.

6. Joseph won’t touch Portiphar’s wife for 2 reasons. Not to betray trust and not to sin against God. Whose trust are you keeping and are you right with God?

7. Joseph was falsely accused and went to prison. It’s not new; expect lies and falsehood and perhaps some time behind bars.

8. Joseph became Personal Assistant to the warden. When God is with you, prison cannot be the same as everyone. Prison becomes your bridge to the palace.

9. Joseph had God with him, but still treated people well, built networks and asked them to remember him. He did his part. While we trust and rely on God, we must not take our networks lightly.

10. When Joseph was summoned from prison, he cut his beard and changed his clothes. Last minutes preparation is good even when you have always been ready. Also dress for the end.

11. Joseph’s strongest CV everywhere was God was with him. This needs to be same for you as well. Is God with you? Don’t gloss over it, if he is, you will be afraid to sin, you will keep trust and seek his glory.

12. Joseph was put in charge of a nation at 30. How old are you and what can God put you in charge of? Were you faithful in Portiphar’s house or are you ready to resit?
